My father, Sunny Varghese, is a Central Govt. Employee. He works as a Technical Supervisor for BSNL, Kottayam. My mother, Mitzy Sunny is a Higher Secondary School Teacher at Catholicate Higher Secondary School, Pathanamthitta. She teaches Malayalam Language. I have a brother, Vimal Sunny Varghese, who is one year elder to me. He is an Electronics Engineer and we both work as Junior Research Fellow at CDAC, Trivandrum.
I belong to Vadakkathu family of Manarcadu Kallakadambil Kudumbam. My grandfather, V.K. Varghese was a Drawing Master and his service was made available in schools at Aden, Aluva and Changanacherry. Our home is located at Panayampala, in Karukachal Panchayath of Kottayam District. To be precise, my home is beside Kottayam-Kozhencherry State Highway, 21 kms far from Kottayam Town, 16 kms far from Changanacherry, 7 kms far from Mallappally and 24 kms far from Thiruvalla. Landmarks to identify our house are St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, Panayampala and L.W.S.H. Convent Panayampala. Both these institutions lie next to our compound.
We belong to the Orthodox Syrian Church and our parish is Panayampala St. Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church under the Niranom diocese. We are active members of the church and I was the secretary of Youth Movement in our church during the year 2000-2001.
