MY COLLEGE LIFE

A Colorful Campus - K.G. College, Pampady

I passed S.S.L.C. in 1996 and decided to choose Maths Group for Pre-Degree. I got admission in K.G. College, Pampady, which was the nearest college to my native place. During that time, K.G. College stood as the synonym for a disciplined and well managed Junior College under the leadership of Prof. Titus Varkey.

Like in M.D. Seminary School, here too I enjoyed a distinction. My brother Vimal was my immediate senior here. Hence my seniors considered me as "Vimal Sunny's Aniyan" and not as a junior kid to harass. ;). In my whole college life, I have never seen a gutsy batch like Vimal's S1 Class. For we juniors, they were literally Heroes. The Final Cricket match between Commerce group and Science group still remains as the most sizzling cricket match I have seen live yet. In that match Jeevan, an unsung hero from Vimal's batch scored in an electrifying way to post a huge score to the Science group. But my schoolmate Joby Varghese replied with a swashbuckling innings for Commerce group. It was a matter of pride for everyone and in the end, our Science group managed to clinch the trophy.

Among the professors/lecturers Mr. Oommen Varghese, Mr. V.J. Jacob, Mrs. Gilsanth, Mrs. Daisy, Mrs. Jancy, Mrs. Annamma, Mrs. Lilly and Mr. N.T. Jacob holds a special level of respect in my memory for their excellent services to teaching.

Last but not least, my classmates..... I have written the names of all those 71 classmates in my personal diary along with their place of residence. Stlll I maintain contact with almost 30% of my Pre-Degree classmates. My dearest friends in K.G. College includes my schoolmates Tigi K Thomas, Robin Jacob and my churchman Jerry Mathew . Along with Anish M.P. Anish Peter, Anoop Cherian, Anoop G., Anoop K. Nair, Anoop Joe, Arun P.V., Ashok Thomas, Bibin C. Mathew, Deepu V. Divakar, George Cherian, Gijomon, Jijomon V. I graduated in 2001 and I wanted to study more about my field of interest - Computers. After a lot of considerations, I decided to join for M.C.A. at Park College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. Four of my collegemates - Anil, Bijoy, Nice and Toby also joined with me in this college. Except Nice we four, stayed togother as paying guests in the premier residential colony of Textile city - Krishnaswamy Nagar near Ramanathapuram. My cousin at Coimbatore - Elwyn helped us in choosing this peaceful colony as the place of stay.

Park College of Engineering and Technology is located in Kaniyur, beside the Kochi - Salem N.H.47. Our's is the first M.C.A. batch of this college. Though we didn't had a lush green campus there, I enjoyed the life in Park College. Industrial visit to Bangalore, Ootty trip with my friends, Inter-Collegiate meet held at P.K.R. Arts and Science College for Women, Gobichettipalayam, Visit to Pollachi and Erode are a few among the cherish memories.

Those 39 classmates have never gone far from my heart. Each and everyone was peculiar for me in one or the other way. But when it matters sleeping in the class, myself, Gins Abraham and Shaheer Jesi were siblings. To be frank, once I have fallen down from my chair while sleeping, when Mr. K.P. Rajesh was taking a lecture on "Connectionless Protocols".

Let me list my classmates in the alphabetical order : Anil Jose, Antony J., Bijoy James, Bijoy Meethal, Bineesh K., Binu Paul M.P., Chandran K.R., Devipriya V., Gins Abraham, Gowthaman V, Jacob Thomman, Jithin Shankar, Jitto Jose, Joffy C. Some of my favorite spots in Coimbatore include, The Nilgiri's Nest, My aunty's home in KovaiPuddur, D.B. Road in R.S. Puram and Ramanathapuram FoodWorld.

I did my academic project at NeST Cyber Campus Aluva. I like this town very much and I used to travel around the places near Aluva. The most pleasant stay I ever had in my whole academic life was in Aluva Y.M.C.A. What a location to stay ! Nearness of river Periyar alone will take away all your sorrows and ailments. My best friend in Technopark, Nishanth Paul (working in Sherston Educational Software Pvt Ltd.) and I shared same room in Y.M.C.A. Some of the interesting charecters that I met in Aluva Y.M.C.A. includes the Canadian lady who came here to study Kathakali and Master Arun, who have not gone to his school for one year only because of Cartoon Network's impact.
